What Students Say

"I really enjoyed the workshop, left-right coordination is really not as simple as it looks. I am surprised and very intrigued by the versatility of the Asalato with different songs you use to teach. Very keen to learn more flips and tricks! I hope that you will arrange more classes for different groups, I will definitely recommend my friends to join me next time."

"I was taken by the Asalato from the first moment I heard Madeline playing it. It was so rhythmic, so joyful and so ALIVE! So happy I got a chance to learn from the master how to Click, Shake, Swing and Catch the Asalato (to Jay Chou music no less! Happiness level compounded!) in the 1.5hr long class. Thank you Madeline for sharing your love for and spreading the joy of this seemingly simple, but actually very challenging to play well, instrument!"

"My first time learning the asalato was not a smooth one, but Madeline, being patient and encouraging, she sat by me and helped me grasp the concepts, basics and asalato tricks and I could focus on just getting my foundational playing right! So thankful that I got to join in and perform showing the fruits of learning. I was so afraid that I could not perform my best as we have to perform after only 10 practices!

Madeline also took the time and effort to help me correct my bad habits and taught me how to fix them. But in the end, i was able to comfortably play all the tricks. The asalato is also a really cool and fun instrument and its very interesting, so im happy that i got to learn abit of how to play it, thanks to my amazing tutor! Thank you Madeline for pushing us and doing up a performance that I am proud to perform!"
